School is so much fun! We are already on our second quarter. The only bad part was people got moved around to different classes and Courtney isn't in my class anymore. The only people who were in my old class are Jacob, Trenton, Emily, Alyssa, Nina, Tyler, and Kyle. Since Courtney's not in my class I'm always by Alyssa. She's really my only friend in my class. We have the class that we used to be in. Courtney's in Selena's class. We've learned a lot this quarter. In math, we learned about prime factorization and greatest common factors. In social studies we are learning about the climate and global warming. In english we are writing narritive essays, and in Science, we are learning about the planets and the moon.

Today was the first day of school! Yah! But I have to admit that it was a little bit boring. All we did was meet our teachers. I also got to say hi to my friends again. The 6th grade is separated into groups called houses, and there are 3. Seminol, Hangpapa, and Potowatomi. There are only three of my friends in my house. Selena, Courtney, and Jacob. We are all in the Potowatomi house. I really like my new school, and I hope to make a lot of new friends in middle school. My dad told us that Middle school is a chance to define yourself, and he also told that's its an opportunity to explore the world. I am ready to explore the WORLD!

Yeah it's summer! Well its already summer, and I've had lots of fun. We went on the Wisconsin River for two days, had a picture party, went for lunch at Sara's house, played tennis, and played a lot with our friends. The one thing I can't wait for is our 11th birthday party. I bet it will be loads of fun. Shannon said we could invite at least three people, so Selena invited Audrey, Manveer, and Ashley. I invited Courtney, Julia, and Naimah. Courtney, Naimah, Julia, and Manveer can come so far. Summer is almost over so enjoy it while it lasts! :) :) :) :)

A few days ago I finished a book called Chasing Redbird. It's about a girl named Zinny who lives with her three sisters Bonnie, Gretchen, and May, her three brothers Ben, Will, and Sam, her parents, a boy named Jake, and her Aunt Jessie and Uncle Nate. It was always so loud in her house so she spent a lot of her time at her aunt and uncle's house. One day she finds a trail, a medallion, and a snake. She showed the snake to Aunt Jessie, and she screamed and ran into the house. She climbs into a drawer and a few hours later she yells, "I hope this is a miracle I'm about to see!" Then she laid her head back and she closed her eyes. She had died. Later in the book she finds out what the letters, "TNWM" on the medallion stood for: "'Till Next We Meet." She and her cousin Rose both had them. Rose died when she was four. Zinny had a really bad cough and Rose got it from her, so she died from it. If you want to know more check it out at any library.

Today I will tell you about one of my friends from school. His name is Jacob. Him and I were really good friends last year, but usually friends get into a big fight (at least for me). I started a fight during the school year and, during summer vacation I sent him a letter telling him that I forgave him. Now our friendship is beginning all over again very slowly. Sooner or later I hope that Jacob and I can be as good of friends as we used to be.

Hi, today I will be telling you about my new years resolutions. I have three of them:

• 1. To not bite my nails any more because I bite them a lot.
• 2. To try and beat at least one video game.
• 3. Try to keep my room as clean as possible because it always looks like a tornado ran threw it.

Cats

Cats come in all different shapes and sizes. They are in groups called breeds. My favorite breed is called the Tonkinese (tonk-neese). They look similar to the Siamese cats, but they are not as skinny, they are more fat. Also, like the Siamese they can come in different colors. All of the causes are caused from one thing. The cross between a Siamese and a Burmes cat. No matter where they come from they will have blue or gold eyes. (no that does not mean they are made of real gold). The blue eyes from the Siamese, and gold eyes from the Burmese. The Siamese cats are one of the top winning breeds. They were first originated in Thailand, and are still found there. Nobody knows where the Burmese first originated. All we know is that it was only found in the US in 1930. Now that you know more about cats. One question, what is your favorite cat breed?

For social studies we are learning about Indian tribes. We are doing something called a Tri-O-Rama. I am doing the tribe called the Inuit. Here is some info about the Inuit: The Inuit made lots of beautiful artwork. They believed that the beauty of their artwork would make the animal sprits happy. When a hunter killed an animal they would ask the sprit to come back to their world, and if the hunter didn’t ask the sprit to come back the sprit would become angry and wouldn’t come back to the world. If you want more info about the Inuit try to find a book or look on the Internet.

I am going to tell you this time about how 5th grade is going. 5th grade is so cool. This year we rule the school! But next year we will be the younger kids again. I will miss all of the teachers that I had. This year is harder than I had expected. I'm falling behind in school because my mother's grandma died so i had to go to the funeral and it was so confuzing. I hope that soon I will be all caught up in my work and will be moving on. This year my teacher is very nice, but she can some times be very strict. But never really to me becauseI am a purfect angle. So that is how the school year is going so far.

Today, I will tell you about some bunnies. We used to have bunnies in our yard. One day, my dad was mowing the lawn (he loves to mow the lawn) and ran over a nest with 3 baby bunnies. The next morning, we saw them. They were so cute and fluffy and adorable. When we got home from school, we didn't see the mom and Selena and I were worried. I told myself that a mother rabbit would com back every few hours and feed the babies. After a few hours I was relaxed. A few days later my step-mom checked on the bunnies and they were all most big enough to be on their own. Then a few days later, they were not there any more. They were on their own. I will miss them very much.

This year I am going to run for Student Council. I am so excited. But in order to become a part of it you have to do certain things. What you have to do is you have to make posters with your name, pictures of you and why you are running. I already have some ideas for my speech. The point of Student Council is to make decisions for your school. I have had lots of experience with little kids and have been at our school since kindergarten and also I have made lots of excellent decisions in my life. When it all comes to the election I will have worked so hard to do all of this stuff, and weather or not I win I will be proud of myself for trying my hardest.

As you cam see I have placed lots of things of things in front of you. But there is more I would like to tell you. My family is a very confusing family. See, Shannon is my step-mom, Jeremy is my real dad, Selena is my step sister, my real mom is Catherine and my step-dad is Craig. See what I mean? The only two people that understand are Naimah and my 4th grade teacher, Mrs. LaLonde. We just moved into a new house like a few months ago. I've made 2 friends so far. Julia and Talor. We mostly play with Julia. She has a puppy named Scottie. He is like the cutest thing in the world! Now that we moved we have to take a different bus. In school I play the violin. I went to my first concert for the violin. It was called Orchestra Fest. Also this summer we went on vacation to Mammoth Cave National Park. We went on the cave tour, we went horse back riding and we swam most of the time. I also went to Colorado. It took us 18 hours to get there by train. There we went to Buffalo Bills museum and grave, to the hot springs in Idaho Springs, Colorado, to the Red Rocks and saw some real dinosaur tracks in the the rocks.
